This ancient traditional Dales Inn with flagged floors, open fires, beamed ceilings, stone walls is a privately owned free house.
Situated in the charming Yorkshire village of Hardraw, beneath the rising fells of Great Shunner Fell, just outside of the town of Hawes, The Green Dragon Inn stands in a stunning location overlooking Upper Wensleydale.
Home to the famous The Hardraw Scaur Brass Band Festival – Britain’s second oldest outdoor contest / festival and takes place annually the second Sunday of September – and the The Hardraw Scaur Waterfall – England’s highest single drop water fall,  drops 100 feet from an overhanging ledge.
There is wi-fi, no pool table, no TV, no background music – just a pub selling good beer with good craic and often singing and music – from the local band – The Bar Clearers  and other visitors.
